Williams v. State, 2D14-5500 (January 15, 2016)
Second District vacated a special condition of probation prohibiting alcohol consumption during probation. A prohibition against alcohol consumption must have a causal relationship with the underlying charged offense, and must not relate to general criminality. Here, the State failed to prove any connection between the prohibition and the underlying offense and as such the Trial Court erred by imposing the condition. Error was preserved by filing a 3.800 motion during the pendency of the appeal.
